Procurement Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Officer to lead sourcing and purchasing activities for pharmaceutical and veterinary products. The role will ensure timely availability of APIs, raw materials, packaging and quality‑control chemicals while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Source locally and internationally the required APIs, raw materials, packaging, QC chemicals and other procurement items.
• Manage approved vendors, negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities, payment terms, lead times and supply conditions.
• Oversee import documentation, DRAP Form‑5, PSW procedures, banking/LC matters, insurance and customs clearance.
• Coordinate material planning with Production, QC, Warehouse and Finance to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
• Monitor landed costs, market trends and ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Procurement or a related field; professional certification (CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.
• Mandatory experience in the pharmaceutical, veterinary or agriculture sectors.
• Proven ability to evaluate suppliers, analyse costs and support procurement planning.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Ability to work on‑site in a fast‑paced environment while upholding ethical and compliance standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement software.
• Advanced use of MS Office tools.
