Production Support Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer to provide 8x5 operational support for enterprise data platforms. You will own incidents from detection through resolution, lead root‑cause analyses, and drive automation and shift‑left initiatives to improve reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage production incidents end‑to‑end, including identification, investigation, resolution, and closure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the Cloudera ecosystem (YARN, Hive, Impala, Spark).
• Perform hands‑on troubleshooting of Teradata and Informatica environments.
• Lead RCA for recurring or critical incidents and implement permanent fixes.
• Coordinate major‑incident bridges and ensure effective communication.
• Investigate data‑quality problems, batch failures, and pipeline issues.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures.
• Drive shift‑left activities by enabling L1 teams to resolve common incidents.
• Automate repetitive tasks and support existing automation scripts.
• Collaborate with development, data engineering, and infrastructure teams.
• Support change activities, including impact assessment, implementation, validation, and post‑change monitoring.

Required profile

• 4–8 years of experience in IT operations, production support, or data platform support.
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting experience with Cloudera, Teradata, and Informatica.
• Proficient in Linux/Unix administration and Shell/Bash scripting.
• Solid understanding of ITIL incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Experience resolving data‑quality issues and batch processing failures.
