Professor of Biomedical Engineering

About the role

Riphah International University in Lahore is seeking a senior academic leader to join its Faculty of Engineering as a Professor of Biomedical Engineering. The role focuses on teaching, research and curriculum development in biomedical engineering applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in Electrical Engineering with a biomedical focus.
• Develop and update curricula to reflect current standards, technological advances and industry needs, supporting accreditation processes.
• Conduct original research in areas such as medical imaging, biomaterials, biomechanics and bio‑instrumentation, and publish in recognized journals.
• Supervise student projects, laboratory work and theses, fostering hands‑on learning and innovation.
• Utilise advanced laboratory techniques and tools (MATLAB, Simulink, SPICE, oscilloscopes) for experiments and teaching.
• Prepare grant proposals, technical reports and scientific papers.
• Collaborate with engineering and healthcare faculties to promote multidisciplinary education.

Required profile

• PhD from an HEC‑recognised institution, preferably in medical imaging, biomaterials, biomechanics or bio‑instrumentation.
• Minimum 15 years of combined teaching, research and industry experience in biomedical engineering.
• Strong record of scholarly publications and involvement in applied projects.
• Experience in curriculum design, accreditation activities and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
