Program Coordinator, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is recruiting a Program Coordinator based in Peshawar, reporting to the Deputy Director Programs in Islamabad. The post provides strategic and operational leadership for IRC's program in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), overseeing program implementation, supporting partners and teams, and contributing to program development. It is a member of the country office Senior Management Team and leads the Provincial Senior Management Team.

Key responsibilities

• Institutionalize relationships with local authorities, government departments, regulatory bodies, universities and UN agencies, using MoUs, coordination meetings and joint planning
• Represent IRC in provincial and district forums and lead provincial-level advocacy
• Lead the Provincial Senior Management Team and take part in country office SMT discussions
• Oversee program management, project implementation and quality, support partners and emergency response teams, and work with the MEAL team on monitoring and reporting
• Contribute to program design, proposal review, SAP reporting and grant management, and conduct performance appraisals and hiring of direct reports
• Approve and circulate situation reports, take field monitoring visits and share lessons learned

Required profile

• Master's degree in Management, Social Sciences, Human Development, Disaster Management or equivalent
• At least five years managing development and humanitarian programs in complex settings, and ten years overall, with at least five years with INGOs
• Proven experience building relationships with government, UN agencies and academic institutions, and leading multi-sector responses
• Good knowledge of the humanitarian architecture in Pakistan and the KP context; preference for candidates from KP

Required skills

• Excellent English, Urdu and Pashto (spoken and written); good command of other KP languages preferred
