Project Manager – Capital Projects

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the planning and execution of all capital, construction and expansion projects across Abbott's plants. You will work closely with the Head of Projects to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets and resource requirements.
• Assist the Head of Projects from initiation through closure and act as the primary liaison with stakeholders, contractors and vendors.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables and success criteria.
• Monitor progress, implement corrective actions and proactively resolve issues, escalating critical risks as needed.
• Prepare and manage budgets, cost forecasts and expenditure, ensuring strict cost control.
• Ensure compliance with Abbott policies, industry standards, regulatory requirements and EHS&E standards.
• Maintain project documentation, contracts, change requests and provide regular updates to the Head of Projects.
• Track project KPIs, recommend continuous improvements and use tools such as MS Project for scheduling and tracking.

Required profile

• 09‑12 years of experience in civil, mechanical, plumbing or electrical construction projects.
• Master’s or B.E. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Industrial engineering.
• Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of civil, mechanical, plumbing and electrical work.
• Proficiency with MS Project and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of contracts, BOQs and technical drawings.
