Project Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The Project Quantity Surveyor manages project quantities, measurements, cost estimation and billing documentation to ensure accurate cost monitoring and effective financial control of construction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and material calculations from project drawings and specifications.
• Prepare and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for civil construction works.
• Conduct site measurements to verify completed work and keep accurate measurement records.
• Prepare interim payment applications and assist in preparing running bills.
• Monitor project quantities and identify variations between estimated and actual quantities.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates, rate analysis and budget calculations.
• Coordinate with site engineers, project management and consultants on measurement and quantity discrepancies.
• Maintain records of material consumption, work progress and quantity variations.
• Review drawings and technical specifications for calculation accuracy, and assist with final bills and completion documentation.

Required profile

• DAE in Civil Engineering (minimum).
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Experience in civil engineering projects, preferably dams, canals, irrigation, roads or infrastructure.

Required skills

• BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs and site measurements.
• Understanding of civil engineering drawings and construction specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD.
• Basic knowledge of cost estimation, rate analysis and project billing.
• Strong numerical, analytical and documentation skills; ability to coordinate with site and project teams.
