Psychiatrist (Part‑time, On‑site in Karachi)

About the role

The Healing Lounge Pakistan is seeking a part‑time Psychiatrist to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to clients in Karachi. The role involves in‑person consultations, collaborative care planning, and contribution to mental‑health awareness initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications when clinically indicated.
• Document clinical encounters accurately while maintaining confidentiality.
• Collaborate with therapists, counselors, clinical psychologists, and a clinical dietitian on integrated care plans.
• Participate in case discussions and support mental‑health awareness projects.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS) with postgraduate specialization in Psychiatry and valid PMDC registration.
• Proven expertise in assessing and managing a wide range of mental‑health conditions.
• Strong clinical interviewing, risk assessment, and crisis‑management skills.
• Fluency in English and Urdu with cultural competence for diverse Pakistani communities.

Required skills

• Evidence‑based psychopharmacology.
• Familiarity with psychotherapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, and trauma‑focused interventions.
• Proficiency in maintaining confidential clinical documentation.
