Regulatory & Compliance Counsel (Contract)

About the role

Turing is seeking an experienced Regulatory and Compliance Counsel to join its fast‑growing AI team on a contract basis. You will work remotely, providing legal guidance on regulatory risk, compliance program design, and policy implementation for cutting‑edge AI products.

Key responsibilities

• Assess legal scenarios and identify regulatory risks associated with AI systems.
• Design, implement, and improve compliance programs, including policies, controls, monitoring, risk assessments, training, and reporting.
• Produce high‑difficulty expert tasks and gold‑standard solutions for the functional area.
• Review and calibrate team members’ output, ensuring day‑to‑day quality.
• Escalate genuine edge cases and rubric ambiguities to the Functional SME Lead.

Required profile

• 5–15 years of experience in regulatory law, compliance, risk management, or related legal advisory roles.
• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree, preferably with a focus on regulatory and compliance matters.
• Professional compliance certifications (e.g., CCEP, CAMS) are a plus.
• Proven ability to interpret laws, regulations, guidance, and internal policies and translate them into practical business requirements.

What we offer

• Contract engagement up to 9 weeks.
• Flexible commitment: 4 hours to 40 hours per week with at least 4 hours overlap with PST.
