Remote Accountant – Bookkeeping & Reporting

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Remote Accountant to manage bookkeeping and financial reporting for a portfolio of small and medium‑sized clients. Working from home, you will support the Senior Accountant and ensure accurate, timely records for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Enter financial transactions and maintain the general ledger using the firm’s accounting software.
• Prepare, verify, and post invoices and supplier bills, ensuring accurate client billing records.
• Record receipts, disbursements, and bank transactions; perform regular bank reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, trial balances, and schedules.
• Organise and file receipts, invoices, and source documents to maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Enter payroll data and perform basic payroll reconciliations as needed.
• Respond to internal queries regarding client account status and support senior staff during audits.

Required profile

• Practical experience with accounting software such as Tally or QuickBooks.
• Strong proficiency in Excel for data entry, basic formulas, reconciliation and reporting.
• Accurate numerical data entry with high attention to detail.
• Experience performing bank reconciliations and matching statements to ledger entries.
• Familiarity with invoicing, accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
