Remote Backend Developer – AI Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a remote Backend Developer to join a globally distributed team building scalable services that power next‑generation AI model training and evaluation. This part‑time contract role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining high‑performance backend infrastructure for critical domains such as finance, healthcare, and engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs for AI training pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business and technical requirements into robust backend solutions.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security, and performance in production environments.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and share knowledge across the team.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to ensure system stability and uptime.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience building and maintaining scalable backend services.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
