Remote Backend Developer – AI Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join a globally distributed team on a part‑time contract basis. You will design, build, and maintain high‑performance backend services that power the training and evaluation of next‑generation AI systems across domains such as finance, healthcare, and engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for AI model training infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business and technical requirements into robust backend solutions.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security, and efficiency to ensure seamless production performance.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and share knowledge across the team.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to maintain system stability and uptime.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and data pipelines in production.
• Strong understanding of system design principles including scalability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code.
