Remote Backend Developer – Contract

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join a global technology leader on a contract basis. The position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while delivering scalable software solutions for high‑impact projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using modern coding standards.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that meets architectural guidelines.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimise system performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work independently in a remote setting.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration across time zones.
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with software development frameworks and libraries relevant to backend projects.
• Knowledge of debugging tools and techniques.
