Remote Cyber Security Risk Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time, remote Cyber Security Risk Consultant to support a leading AI‑focused client. In this contract position you will monitor security events, analyse threats, and implement protective measures that safeguard critical infrastructure and high‑performance AI systems.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security events across systems and networks to detect anomalies and potential threats.
• Analyse security threats and vulnerabilities, assess risk, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Implement and maintain security measures, protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems and encryption technologies.
• Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Develop and communicate clear security policies and procedures to stakeholders.
• Provide timely incident response, coordinating with IT teams to minimise impact.
• Support continuous improvement of security frameworks through feedback and analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience in threat detection, network security or penetration testing.
• Strong knowledge of security protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS and encryption.
• Familiarity with conducting risk assessments and implementing security controls in enterprise environments.
• Ability to analyse security logs and interpret threat intelligence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
