Remote Data Protection Officer (PII Compliance)

About the role

We are seeking a Remote Data Protection Officer (PII Compliance) on a contract basis to lead data protection strategies for a global IT services and consulting client. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with privacy regulations, handling personally identifiable information, and mitigating data‑processing risks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies aligned with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and other global privacy laws.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), to verify compliance.
• Serve as the primary contact for data‑protection inquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Monitor, report, and remediate data‑protection risks across the organization.
• Design and deliver training programs on privacy best practices and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Law, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or CISSP are preferred.
• Proven experience with privacy‑by‑design frameworks and DPIAs.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to identify compliance gaps and implement solutions.
