Remote Data Protection Officer (PII Compliance)

About the role

We are seeking a Remote Data Protection Officer to lead privacy compliance for a global IT services and consulting firm. The contractor will design and enforce data protection policies, ensuring that personal data is handled in line with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and other regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain data protection policies and procedures aligned with international privacy laws.
• Conduct regular audits, assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to verify compliance.
• Serve as the primary contact for data protection queries from internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Monitor, report and mitigate data protection risks, recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver training and awareness programs on privacy best practices and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Law or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM or CISSP preferred.
• Proven experience with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA compliance and privacy‑by‑design frameworks.
