Remote Data Protection Officer (PII Compliance)

About the role

We are seeking a Remote Data Protection Officer to lead privacy initiatives for a global IT services and consulting client. The role focuses on safeguarding personally identifiable information and ensuring compliance with major privacy regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies and procedures aligned with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and other global privacy laws.
• Conduct regular audits, assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to verify compliance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders on data protection matters.
• Monitor, report and mitigate data protection risks, recommending corrective actions as needed.
• Deliver training and awareness programs on privacy best practices and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Law, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM or CISSP are preferred.
• Proven experience with privacy by design frameworks and compliance gap analysis.

Required skills

• CIPP/E, CIPM or CISSP certification (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA regulations.
• Experience conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
• Ability to interpret and apply privacy laws to business processes.
