Remote Mechanical Engineer – Contract

About the role

This contract role is for a remote Mechanical Engineer who will act as an engineering expert, guiding system architecture decisions and troubleshooting complex technical issues. You will work with a global technology leader to ensure the scalability and reliability of mission‑critical distributed systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evaluate scalable system architectures that meet evolving business and technical requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve high‑priority production issues with minimal downtime.
• Develop and document engineering best practices, standards, and guidelines for cross‑team adoption.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to uphold quality and security standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience with distributed systems, microservices, or large‑scale backend infrastructure.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a track record of resolving complex technical challenges.
• Excellent written communication skills for clear technical documentation and architectural decisions.
