Remote Mechanical Engineer – System Architecture

About the role

The client is seeking a remote Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in system architecture to guide critical infrastructure decisions, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive performance improvements across distributed platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evaluate scalable system architectures that meet evolving business and technical requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve high‑priority production issues with minimal downtime.
• Develop and document engineering best practices, standards, and guidelines for cross‑team adoption.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to ensure quality and security compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience with distributed systems, microservices, or large‑scale backend infrastructure.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a track record of resolving complex technical challenges.
• Excellent written communication skills for clear technical documentation.

Required skills

• Python, Java, Go or Rust programming.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Containerization tools: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Understanding of system architecture, distributed systems and microservices.
