Remote Tax Accountant (EA/CPA) – Contract

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Tax Accountant (EA or CPA) to work remotely on a contract basis. The professional will handle federal and state tax filings for both individuals and businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance for a global client base.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals and corporate entities.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of tax codes and apply them to ensure compliant filings.
• Research complex tax issues and provide clear recommendations to clients.
• Gather necessary documentation from clients, resolve discrepancies, and keep detailed records.
• Communicate with clients to obtain required information and answer tax‑related queries.

Required profile

• Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
• At least three years of experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax preparation software such as TurboTax and Drake.
