Remote Tax Accountant (EA/CPA)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Tax Accountant (EA or CPA) to work remotely on a contract basis. The professional will support a global accounting firm by preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns for both individual and business clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Ensure all filings comply with current tax laws and regulations.
• Research complex tax issues and provide actionable recommendations.
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation in line with tax standards.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and resolve discrepancies.

Required profile

• Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax preparation software such as TurboTax or Drake.
• Experience using tax preparation software platforms.
