Remote Tax Accountant (EA/CPA)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant (EA or CPA) to work remotely on a contract basis. The professional will handle federal and state tax filings for both individuals and businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Maintain compliance with current tax laws and regulations in all filings.
• Research complex tax issues and provide clear recommendations.
• Maintain client records and documentation according to tax standards.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and resolve discrepancies.

Required profile

• Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
• Minimum three years of experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax preparation software such as TurboTax.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software such as Drake.
