Research Manager

About the role

The Research Manager reports to the Director of the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) and leads research administration for Riphah International University. The role ensures smooth pre‑ and post‑award processes, compliance with HEC and sponsor regulations, and promotes multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and communicate pre‑ and post‑award procedures; support faculty with budgets, contracts, progress reports, and project close‑outs.
• Process grant, reward, honoraria, and event payments; reconcile with Finance and verify publication reward claims.
• Maintain the research database, dashboards, and the HEC ORIC Scorecard; act as secretariat for the ORIC Steering Committee.
• Manage funding opportunity logs, advise on mechanisms, oversee large proposals, and run grant‑writing workshops.
• Coordinate ORIC’s website, social media, newsletter, and internal seed‑grant calls from announcement to close‑out.

Required profile

• MS/MPhil or equivalent from an HEC‑recognized institute.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant research administration experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP for research finance processing.
• Experience in budgeting, auditing, and contract management.
• Ability to maintain research databases and create analytical dashboards.
• Knowledge of grant management, funding mechanisms, and HEC reporting.
• Website and social‑media content management.
