Research Scientist – Biomaterials & Cell Culture

About the role

Nuvex Biotech is seeking a Research Scientist to lead a decellularized extracellular matrix program for veterinary wound care. Reporting to the Founder, you will own material preparation, characterization, and in‑vitro performance evaluation while collaborating closely with formulation and analytical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Process animal tissue to produce decellularized matrix using detergent and nuclease workflows; optimise residual DNA, matrix retention and batch consistency.
• Quantify residual dsDNA by fluorometric assay and assess matrix integrity via histology.
• Isolate and maintain primary dermal fibroblasts, controlling passage number, confluence and contamination.
• Conduct scratch migration and viability assays with appropriate controls; perform image‑based quantification.
• Interpret data against study objectives and distinguish biological effects from methodological artifacts.
• Document protocols, raw data and technical reports to review‑ready standards.

Required profile

• MS or PhD in biotechnology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, tissue engineering or related field.
• Minimum one year of independent hands‑on experience with adherent or primary cell culture, including aseptic technique, passaging, cryopreservation and troubleshooting contamination.
• Experience executing quantitative cell‑based assays through to data analysis.
