Resettlement Specialist – Consultant

About the role

The National Highway Authority (NHA) in Islamabad is seeking a Resettlement Specialist on a consultancy basis to lead the planning, coordination and implementation of resettlement activities linked to its infrastructure projects. The role ensures that all resettlement actions comply with national policies and international standards while minimizing social impact on affected communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive resettlement plans for communities impacted by NHA projects.
• Coordinate with government departments, local authorities, and community representatives to secure approvals and facilitate smooth implementation.
• Conduct social impact assessments, baseline surveys and monitor the progress of resettlement activities.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation and status updates for senior management review.
• Provide expert guidance on social and resettlement issues to project teams and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Mid‑level experience in resettlement, social development or infrastructure projects.
• Strong analytical abilities, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
