Residential Childcare Provider (Houseparent) – Sialkot

About the role

The Residential Childcare Provider, also known as a Houseparent, will live on‑site and act in loco parentis for orphaned or abandoned children. You will create a safe, nurturing home environment that supports their physical, emotional, social and moral development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily routines: wake‑up, prayers, school preparation, meals, homework supervision and bedtime.
• Prepare and coordinate three balanced meals daily, assist with cooking and manage kitchen supplies.
• Supervise housekeeping tasks such as laundry and cleaning, teaching life‑skills and maintaining cleanliness.
• Track educational progress, attend to attendance, report cards, homework assistance and liaise with tutors and schools.
• Organise extracurricular and cultural activities, including Islamic education, Quranic studies, prayer sessions and holiday celebrations.
• Mentor children in social skills, conflict resolution, personal hygiene and emotional resilience.
• Provide trauma‑informed emotional care, support coping with grief, abandonment and behavioural challenges.
• Apply compassionate, non‑corporal discipline focused on character development.
• Identify signs of psychological distress or medical issues and refer to social workers, counselors or healthcare providers.
• Maintain accurate records of health, medication, behaviour and academic milestones.
• Manage budget and resources for groceries, clothing, utilities and other necessities.
• Ensure compliance with child protection guidelines, clearances and regular reference checks.

Required profile

• Strong background in childcare, orphanage or related fields.
• Compassionate, patient and able to act as a parental figure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Genuine passion for child welfare and development.
