Restaurant Accountant - Junior Level

About the role

The Junior Restaurant Accountant will manage daily financial transactions for a restaurant branch, ensuring accurate sales reconciliation, cash‑flow monitoring and expense recording. Working closely with branch managers, cashiers and store‑in‑charge staff, the role supports financial integrity and cost control in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Enter all daily financial transactions into the accounting system.
• Perform daily sales reconciliation by matching POS records with cash, card and online receipts.
• Verify revenue reports, manage deposit records and oversee petty‑cash transactions.
• Record and validate operational expenses, maintain organized invoices and vouchers.
• Coordinate with the store department for accurate stock consumption reports and assist in monthly inventory counts.
• Monitor food‑cost percentages and report significant variances.
• Prepare weekly and monthly expense summaries and financial reports for the branch.
• Support the Senior Accountant during month‑end closing and manage bank transactions, including fund transfers and salary disbursements.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in restaurant, hotel or retail settings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and high integrity.
• No team‑management responsibilities; collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
• Solid understanding of financial accounting and bookkeeping practices.
