Risk Officer (NOB) – Islamabad

About the role

The Risk Officer will strengthen risk management, assurance and governance functions for the WFP Country Office in Pakistan. Reporting to the Head of Risk Management, the incumbent will embed risk‑informed decision‑making across the Country and Provincial Offices.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the Country Office Risk Register, monitor key risk indicators and ensure mitigation actions are tracked.
• Support regular and ad‑hoc risk and control assessments, evaluating internal controls and recommending proportionate mitigation measures.
• Analyse risk, incident and monitoring data to identify trends, emerging issues and areas outside risk appetite, and escalate to management.
• Prepare risk and assurance reports, coordinate the annual Executive Director's Assurance Exercise and follow up on audit recommendations.
• Implement WFP’s Anti‑Fraud and Anti‑Corruption framework, conduct fraud risk assessments and support fact‑finding investigations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in risk management, internal audit or assurance functions within a humanitarian or development context.
• Ability to conduct risk and control assessments, analyse findings and produce concise briefing notes or dashboards for senior management.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with functional units, Provincial Offices and regional or headquarters counterparts.
