Robotics Research Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Robotics Research Engineer to lead the design and standardisation of embodied‑robotics data that fuels AI training and perception systems. Working remotely, you will partner with top‑tier research teams to build scalable data pipelines that support diverse applications from healthcare to engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Define and standardise robotics data formats, schemas and benchmarks for consistent representation.
• Design and implement innovative data‑collection methods, including human demonstrations, tele‑operation and multi‑sensor integration.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align data pipelines with model‑training requirements.
• Evaluate datasets for diversity, scalability and impact to ensure high‑quality contributions to AI systems.
• Prototype experiments and tooling for efficient data gathering, leveraging best practices from leading robotics labs.

Required profile

• 2–5+ years of experience in robotics R&D, data engineering or applied research.
• Strong understanding of robotics data formats (RGB‑D, IMU, pose, language) and their role in perception and control.
• Hands‑on experience with robot perception, control algorithms or data‑driven learning methods.
• Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Degree in robotics, computer science, electrical engineering or a related technical field.
