Rust Backend Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Rust Engineer to design and implement high‑performance backend systems within a fast‑growing open‑source environment. The role is remote‑first, allowing you to work independently while collaborating with a global team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high‑performance Rust services and desktop applications for Windows and macOS.
• Write clear, efficient, and well‑tested code using Rust’s testing framework.
• Implement asynchronous and concurrent solutions, ensuring safe memory management without garbage collection.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimise existing codebases.
• Collaborate with teammates via GitHub workflows and contribute to open‑source projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with Rust and Tauri.
• Strong understanding of safe memory management, async programming, multi‑threading, and concurrency in Rust.
• Proven ability to write clear, efficient code and solve complex problems.
• Passion for open‑source development and continuous learning.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, comfortable working independently in a remote setting.
