Sales Tax Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Sales Tax Analyst to join our finance team in Pakistan. The role focuses on preparing and filing transaction tax returns, supporting corporate tax matters, and assisting with tax planning initiatives. You will work closely with the accounting department and external tax authorities to ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely sales/use, business & occupation, and gross receipts tax returns using data from Great Plains.
• Complete corporate tax working papers, reconcile returns to provisions, and maintain provision schedules.
• Provide support to the financial accounting team on corporate tax issues and tax planning projects.
• Respond to state and city tax letters/requests and act as a liaison with tax departments.
• Back‑up accounts payable and coordinate with the Onshore Tax Team for sales tax payments.
• Register for transaction tax accounts in new jurisdictions as required.
• Assist with transaction tax audits and resolve notices, questions, and discrepancies.
• Perform special assignments delegated by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in business, accounting, or equivalent work experience.
• Resourceful, inquisitive, self‑motivated with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle high work volumes accurately during peak periods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple deadline‑driven tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with Microsoft Great Plains (GP) is an asset.
