Secondary Electrical Design Engineer – HV Substation

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Secondary Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Karachi and support the design and delivery of high‑voltage substation projects up to 220 kV.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop secondary engineering solutions for indoor/outdoor AIS and GIS substations up to 220 kV.
• Create secondary documentation such as single‑line diagrams (SLD), protection logic diagrams and interlocking logic diagrams.
• Prepare signal lists for SAS/SCADA, protection, alarm, event and fault recording.
• Review and interface supplier drawings (GIS/AIS, AC/DC system, transformer, etc.).
• Perform CT, VT and DC battery sizing calculations.
• Plan cable routes, produce schedules and generate interface documents for equipment termination.
• Assist the project team in preparing BOQs and technical proposals.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of post‑qualification experience in secondary design of HV substations.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and ETAP.
• Familiarity with the latest IFC and IFFE standards for secondary engineering.
• Strong technical reporting and teamwork abilities.
