Secondary Section Teacher – Social Studies & Pakistan Studies (Years 7 & 8)

About the role

PECHS Girls' School is looking for a Secondary Section Teacher to teach Social Studies and Pakistan Studies to Years 7 and 8. The teacher prepares engaging lessons, delivers and assesses them according to the National Curriculum, and supports students in developing critical thinking and responsible citizenship.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare engaging lesson plans using active learning strategies to help students understand Social Studies.
• Foster critical thinking, analytical skills, inquiry and responsible citizenship through classroom discussions and activities.
• Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, participation and respect for diverse perspectives.
• Provide individual academic support and guidance to students when needed.
• Plan, deliver and assess lessons for Years 7 and 8, preparing students for assessments.
• Use technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the National Curriculum and apply it to daily teaching, learning and assessment.
• Design, prepare and evaluate formative and summative assessments, including test and examination papers.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, share responsibilities and contribute to the department and school community.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Pakistan Studies, History, Political Science, Geography, International Relations or a related field.
• Preference for candidates with experience teaching Social Studies and Pakistan Studies to Years 7 and 8.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
• Organised, observant, adaptable, open to feedback and willing to take on challenges.
