Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensure the integrity of financial records, and support accurate and timely reporting. This position supervises the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams while driving process improvements and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids and adjustments.
• Maintain the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts, prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Perform and review balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate significant variances.
• Supervise and mentor AP and AR accountants, review their reconciliations and ensure deadlines are met.
• Assist finance leadership with budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow analysis and variance reporting.
• Prepare audit schedules, support tax filings and coordinate with external auditors.
• Identify and implement accounting process improvements and support ERP automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• CA finalist or ACCA qualified with articles.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and ASPE.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
