Senior Accountant

About the role

This role owns the day‑to‑day accounting, financials and month‑end reporting for a fast‑moving consumer goods importer and distributor. The senior accountant ensures the books are clean, tax filings are on time, and the Director receives reliable financial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee bookkeeping and maintain accurate records in the ERP system.
• Manage import and landed‑cost accounting, including document reconciliation and tax tracking.
• Handle receivables, payables, cash and bank operations, and prepare weekly aging reports.
• Prepare and process monthly payroll and related statutory compliance.
• Ensure timely filing of income tax, sales tax, withholding tax, advance tax and provincial tax returns.
• Coordinate customs and import filings with clearing agents and maintain compliance with Finance Acts.
• Produce monthly management accounts, margin analysis, sales and inventory reports, and support budgeting and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Maintain the finance side of the ERP, including chart of accounts and data exports for analysis.

Required profile

• Degree in accounting, finance or commerce (B.Com, BBA, ACCA, CA‑inter, ICMA etc.).
• 4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably in importing, distribution or FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of Pakistani tax regulations and filing procedures.
• Hands‑on experience with an ERP or accounting software.
• Proficiency in Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
• Understanding of import accounting and landed‑cost calculations.
