Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the role

Meds IT Nexus is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage complex medical claims and drive cash flow for US‑based healthcare clients. This full‑time, evening/night position requires advanced follow‑up, denial management and appeal expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end AR management, focusing on high‑value, aged or complex unpaid claims.
• Review patient claims for coding accuracy and completeness before submission.
• Identify and resolve payment discrepancies, underpayments and challenging denials.
• Prepare and submit Level 1 and Level 2 appeals with supporting clinical documentation.
• Verify insurance payments against contractual discount rates for Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers.
• Handle secondary and tertiary insurance billing and escalated patient inquiries.
• Generate daily/weekly AR trend analyses and performance reports using MS Excel.
• Mentor junior billing associates and coordinate escalations with team leads.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of senior‑level experience in US medical billing, AR follow‑up, denial management and appeals.
• Strong written and verbal English communication with analytical problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• AdvancedMD, eClinicalWorks, Kareo/Tebra, Practice Fusion, OfficeAlly, EncoderPro, and various payer portals.
• Microsoft Excel – pivot tables, data sorting, reporting formulas.
• Web faxing tools and fast typing speed.
