Senior Associate, Compliance Operations

About the role

Mashreq Global Network Pakistan is looking for a Senior Associate in Compliance Operations. The role safeguards the bank's interests by screening incoming and outgoing messages and cheque payments against compliance and anti-money laundering (AML) policies, and by monitoring control activities and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Scrutinize and move transactions to the checker queue with an appropriate decision in screening systems for incoming and outgoing messages and cheque payments.
• Monitor and control all control activities and meet the bank's and regulators' regulatory requirements.
• Handle and monitor the Fircosoft system and clear transactions from the maker queue according to specified cutoffs.
• Ensure daily control and functional checklist (DCFC) activities are completed without fail.
• Explore and raise possible issues on products at CPC/IBG in line with the bank's compliance policy, keeping up to date with legal, statutory and regulatory changes.
• Complete mandatory courses and assignments to strengthen understanding of compliance with legal, statutory and corporate policies.
• Process all transactions according to SOP and bank policy within agreed turnaround time with zero errors.

Required profile

• 2-4 years of experience in banking operations in officer positions requiring all-round banking skills and technical expertise.
• Expertise in interpreting banking regulations, laws and AML regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Swift and screening systems, including Fircosoft and Mashreq processes and systems.
• Knowledge of general banking, cheque payments, inward and outward payments and AML environments and regulations across countries.
