Senior Auditor – Internal Shariah Audit

About the role

The Senior Auditor – Internal Shariah Audit will support the Audit Manager and Head of ISA in delivering quarterly presentations to the Board Audit Committee, Internal Shariah Supervision Committee and senior leadership. The role ensures the adequacy and effectiveness of Shariah governance and internal controls across Islamic banking operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Shariah field audits and reviews in line with the approved audit program, covering Islamic products, services and transactions, and maintain comprehensive audit work papers.
• Plan audit coverage with the Audit Manager, update the Business Process Risk Assessment (BPRA) and adjust the Shariah audit plan as required.
• Lead a small Shariah audit team (2‑3 members), execute audits, communicate findings to unit management and develop action plans to address deficiencies.
• Prepare and present audit findings, action plans and status reports for ISSC, BAC and IAG MBO Review meetings.
• Coordinate with the Internal Audit team to exchange information, share findings and ensure alignment of audit activities.
• Monitor implementation of Shariah action plans, conduct follow‑up reviews and report on progress.
• Maintain the annual GRAM score sheets, act as custodian of GRAM and support audit challenge sessions.
• Assist in updating the Internal Shariah Audit Manual, the annual IAG plan and maintain related intranet pages.
