Senior Backend Engineer (Python) – Remote Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with strong Python expertise to join a global software development leader on a contract basis. The role is fully remote and focuses on designing, building, and maintaining high‑performance backend services for high‑traffic applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Implement and manage RESTful APIs, databases, and micro‑services architecture.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability for large‑scale applications.
• Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code following industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure high availability.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience with Python.
• Proven ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment and handle multiple priorities.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a focus on delivering robust solutions.
