Senior Cameraman – Karachi Bureau (2‑year contract)

About the role

The Senior Cameraman will capture and edit high‑quality visuals for news, current affairs and documentary programmes, supporting the Karachi bureau of CNA TV. The role involves managing camera equipment, live‑broadcast devices and editing facilities, with occasional travel across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on and set up optimal technical configurations for filming, including camera operation, lighting and sound recording.
• Operate LiveU, BGAN or similar bonded cellular/satellite devices for live broadcasts and remote productions.
• Edit video deliverables, ensuring narrative coherence and broadcast technical standards.
• Maintain and troubleshoot cameras, studio gear, editing suites and transmission equipment.
• Collaborate with correspondents, editors, producers and headquarters staff in Singapore to plan and execute shoots.
• Travel to various locations, including disaster zones or high‑risk areas, for on‑site filming.
• Organise and archive video footage for future editing and reference.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a cameraman or video journalist.
• Proven ability to work irregular shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Team‑player attitude with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Operation of various professional camera types.
• Knowledge of location lighting and audio recording for indoor and outdoor shoots.
• Experience with bonded cellular and satellite transmission devices (LiveU, BGAN).
• Basic editing skills using Adobe Premiere.
• Understanding of file transfer protocols for video delivery.
