Senior FI Credit Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Senior FI Credit Analyst to provide independent credit risk oversight of Financial Institution (FI) and Country Risk exposures. The role involves conducting thorough credit assessments, recommending limits, monitoring portfolio risk and supporting the credit approval process to ensure exposures stay within the bank’s risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive credit analysis of financial institutions and sovereign/country exposures, assessing trade, treasury and limit structures.
• Review proposals for new FI relationships, limit enhancements and transaction‑specific approvals, providing recommendations to senior credit management.
• Monitor FI and country exposures against approved limits, tenors, ratings and covenants, identifying emerging credit concerns and suggesting mitigation measures.
• Maintain accurate counterparty and country ratings in risk reporting systems and contribute to the development of monitoring tools and reporting capabilities.
• Review and enhance the Group FI Credit Risk Framework and Country Risk Guidelines to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with Group FI stakeholders, prepare credit memoranda and present recommendations to the Group Credit Committee.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CFA, FRM, ACCA or CA is preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in FI credit risk, country risk, corporate credit, treasury risk or related banking functions.
• Proven experience preparing credit papers and presenting recommendations to senior management and credit committees.
