Senior Programme Officer, Health

About the role

The Senior Programme Officer, Health will provide technical leadership and programme management support to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS). The role focuses on strengthening equitable access to immunisation services for hard‑to‑reach, underserved and emergency‑affected communities across Pakistan.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Health Coordinator in designing and implementing capacity‑strengthening activities for PRCS health staff and in preparing proposals and budgets with a health‑systems‑strengthening approach.
• Conduct joint technical monitoring and reviews with PRCS, identify good practices, operational challenges and capacity gaps.
• Support planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of epidemic and disease‑outbreak initiatives.
• Lead the development of a scalable multi‑year routine immunisation and community health programme adaptable to different geographic contexts.
• Monitor PRCS outreach and mobile vaccination activities, and strengthen branch capacities for routine immunisation, supplemental immunisation activities and outbreak response.
• Develop and implement community engagement and social mobilisation strategies to generate demand for immunisation, address vaccine hesitancy and misinformation.
• Analyse immunisation coverage, dropout and zero‑dose indicators to identify priority areas and support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Prepare technical reports, dashboards and presentations for donors and stakeholders, documenting lessons learned and best practices.
