Senior Tax Compliance & Reporting Specialist – Karachi

About the role

EY’s ACR tax service line is seeking a senior professional to lead tax compliance and reporting engagements for clients across multiple industries in Karachi. You will coordinate delivery of tax services, manage client relationships and drive quality and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate client engagements, manage deadlines and track engagement economics.
• Assist clients with year‑end closings, audit support, preparation of financial statements and corporate/VAT tax returns.
• Provide general accounting, credit control and internal optimisation projects.
• Prepare management reports, budgeting, analytical bookkeeping and competitor analysis.
• Lead and coach a high‑performing team, ensuring adherence to EY Tax Quality guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or taxation (advanced degree or professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT is a plus).
• Minimum 4 + years of relevant experience, preferably in a large professional services firm.
• Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards, tax rules and regulatory topics.
• Experience working with multinational clients and in multicultural environments.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and tax compliance processes.
