Social Media Manager – News Agency

About the role

The Social Media Manager will lead the creation and distribution of news‑focused content across multiple social platforms, amplifying Independent News Pakistan’s coverage and brand voice. This full‑time, onsite position in Islamabad requires close collaboration with editors, reporters and the digital team to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging posts that support audience growth.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, create and publish news‑focused content across major social media platforms.
• Manage daily posting schedule, monitor audience interactions and ensure timely responses.
• Maintain content accuracy and uphold editorial standards in line with the agency’s non‑partisan policy.
• Collaborate with editors, reporters and the digital team to align social posts with breaking news and long‑term audience‑growth strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong interest in current affairs, politics and global events.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven newsroom, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Commitment to ethical, accurate and non‑partisan content.
