Software Architect - Backend

About the role

Dubizzle.com is expanding its technology team in Pakistan and is looking for a senior Backend Software Architect to lead the design and delivery of high‑performance web services. You will work closely with product, infrastructure, design and strategy teams to shape the technical vision of the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an up‑to‑date, in‑depth understanding of the Dubizzle code base, technologies and industry trends.
• Provide architectural guidance, set coding standards and mentor engineers across product streams.
• Collaborate with leads and senior engineers to ensure delivery of software that meets the highest quality standards.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in source control, build management, CI/CD and automated testing.
• Influence the technical direction of the product while aligning daily decisions with the overall vision.
• Participate in hiring and building high‑performing engineering teams.

Required profile

• 9+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven experience designing scalable, highly available web applications.
• Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities.
• Experience with high‑traffic, large‑scale web products is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in open‑source languages such as Python, Ruby, PHP or Java.
• Hands‑on experience with web frameworks like Django, Laravel or Ruby on Rails.
• Deep knowledge of source code control, build processes, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum, XP).
