Software Engineer (Back End Focused)

About the role

INTECH Automation Intelligence is looking for a Backend‑focused Software Engineer to join its Industrial Intelligence team. You will build and maintain high‑performance services that power Industry 4.0 applications across manufacturing, oil & gas, chemicals, food & beverage, and mining.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python and Flask.
• Create and optimise PostgreSQL schemas, write hand‑crafted SQL queries, and tune database performance.
• Implement business logic, validation, authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to define API contracts and support React.js integration.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in development, staging, and production environments.
• Write clean, well‑documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, builds and deployments.
• Use Git for version control and follow branching strategies.
• Monitor application performance and assist with architectural decisions.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional experience developing backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Flask and REST API design.
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL performance tuning and indexing.
• Hands‑on experience with production‑grade backend services.
• Understanding of React.js integration patterns.
• Excellent debugging, problem‑solving and ownership mindset.
