Software Engineer – Human Data Platforms (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms that process human‑generated datasets. This fully remote, full‑time position works with a global leader in data infrastructure and analytics, offering the chance to solve complex technical challenges in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines for large‑scale batch and real‑time processing.
• Develop and maintain backend services that support data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and usability.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to guarantee platform reliability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that improve scalability, performance, and security.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail when debugging complex systems.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud‑based data infrastructure.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with Kafka, Spark, or similar distributed technologies.
• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
