Software Engineer - Human Data Platforms (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms that process human‑generated datasets. The role is fully remote and focuses on building reliable, high‑performance backend services for real‑time and batch data processing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines for large‑scale human‑generated data.
• Develop and maintain backend services supporting real‑time and batch processing.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to guarantee platform reliability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that improve scalability and performance.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail when debugging complex systems.
• Experience working with distributed systems and cloud‑based data infrastructure.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with Kafka, Spark, or similar distributed technologies.
• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
