Software Engineer II

About the role

Conrad Labs is seeking a Software Engineer II to own features end‑to‑end, contribute to architecture decisions, mentor junior engineers, and deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions. This role is ideal for engineers eager to build fluency with agentic development tools while working on production software across client delivery, MVP, venture studio, and internal projects.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver features from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
• Participate in technical design discussions and help evolve system architecture for scalability and performance.
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code using modern development practices.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers (local and remote) to deliver user value.
• Mentor junior team members, conduct code reviews, and raise the engineering bar.
• Identify and drive improvements in codebase, architecture, or engineering processes.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of software engineering experience in a product‑based environment.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Strong technical judgment and clear communication skills.
• Curiosity about agentic coding tools and willingness to grow proficiency.

Required skills

• Full‑stack web development with solid backend, API, and database (SQL/NoSQL) knowledge.
• Experience with scalable, distributed systems.
• Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices.
• Automated testing focus on code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, Python.
• Exposure to containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
