Software Engineer – iOS

About the role

Global Rescue is seeking an experienced iOS Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain mission‑critical features for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. You will create reliable tracking capabilities, deliver polished user experiences, and work closely with backend and product teams to ship secure, high‑performance features at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance iOS applications with a focus on reliability, scalability, and user safety.
• Create intuitive interfaces using UIKit, SwiftUI, Auto Layout, and the latest mobile trends.
• Implement real‑time location and activity tracking using Core Location, Core Motion, and Apple Watch APIs, including background execution, geofencing, and motion detection.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure robustness and address edge cases.
• Identify, debug, and resolve bugs while continuously improving performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and release new features.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience developing iOS applications for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Swift programming language.
• iOS fundamentals: concurrency, multithreading, memory management, performance profiling.
• UIKit, SwiftUI, Auto Layout.
• Core Data or other ORM persistence solutions.
• JSON handling and modern dependency management.
• MapKit and/or Google Maps SDK for iOS.
• Core Location, Core Motion, GPS accuracy tuning, background execution, geofencing.
• REST APIs integration using URLSession, authentication flows, and APNs push notifications.
• Debugging, automated unit/integration testing, CI/CD pipelines.
• App Store release processes.
