Software Engineer - Ruby on Rails

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer specialized in Ruby on Rails to join Dubizzle Labs’ rapidly growing engineering team in Pakistan. You will help build a world‑class suite of products that support the hyper‑growth of our businesses across ten countries.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Ruby on Rails applications that deliver high value to customers.
• Build, maintain, and consume RESTful APIs and integrate third‑party services.
• Implement background job processing using Sidekiq, ActiveJob or Resque.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure robust system and database design.
• Optimize queries, improve performance, and support high‑traffic, multi‑tenant environments.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Strong understanding of system design, database design and query optimisation.
• Good grasp of data structures, algorithms and problem‑solving.
• Experience with RESTful services, web architecture and database fundamentals.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
